Shields Up!

Although I KNOW there is a permanently fixed speed detection camera on this local main street, I am driving 60kms per hour in a 50km zone. Flash!

Since I am the driver whose car others are stuck behind on country roads, I don't think I deserve a fine. Despondent, I avoid the letterbox for two weeks and pray. Then a friend mentions a computer virus that has affected speed camera systems. Traffic camera violations have apparently been withdrawn. I have a chance.

I carefully select a time when I'm standing at the letterbox with a friend who is leaving my house. After a chat and a laugh I feel strong enough to tackle the possibilities the letterbox might hold. I open the box to find a two week sized bunch of envelopes. I go through them one by one. Insurance (almost as bad), estate agents promotion, bank letter, etc, etc. No fine! Yippee!

As my relief peaks and subsides, I recall the often repeated blessing I use for my car, 'Shields up.' I can't help but wonder how it is that my attention slipped at that particular moment, on that day, during that week when the camera system was malfunctioning. I use that road almost every day and the camera is there all the time. Of course I can never prove the power of my little ritual, but I will quietly continue to use it.

I'm not saying we should use our word magick to get away with stuff. I have not escaped the cycle of cause and effect. Although I haven't been fined for my transgression, I have refocussed my attention on not breaking the speed limit and finding alternate ways around that part of town. It was a close call.

Shields Up

Imagine your car, whether moving or stationary.
Imagine it surrounded in a bubble or field of light, forming a shield.
Think 'Starship Enterprise' from Star Trek etc.
Articulate the words in your mind, or speak them out loud to accompany the image: "Shields Up!"

Keep it simple so it can be recalled. Use it often to build a 'bank' or 'store' of protective energy that endures, even if you miss a day or two of using it. You can use the same method to spiritually protect your home, your workplace, yourself and your loved ones.

Shields up and drive safe.
