Back to Dimension Zero - Calming the Inner-Creature

Image
I didn't write a book about meditation because I was perfect at it. In fact most of the material I had been writing wasn't about meditation at all but memoir. However, the memoir material was still too emotionally charged for me to face in a rational way. My nervous system, ravaged by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder ( PTSD ), was still wired to react to the slightest aggravation. So as I learned how to rebuild my nervous system from the ground up - using what I knew about human consciousness - the material to structure my first book,  The Love of the Universe , emerged. After I finished writing it I realised that I hadn't included enough practical exercises to generate the shifts in consciousness that I was enjoying myself. Somehow I needed to create a more practical, user-friendly version. Fortunately I had written several guided meditations specifically designed to do the job, enough material to create a second book:  Multidimensional Meditation.  My intent was to show

Going Deep: Explore Seven Planes of Your Inner Life

Image
Doing nothing can get stuff done. Although it's evening and I'm tired, and have already written a piece of content, I decided to tap into my creative space and see if anything came up. I pondered the creative space itself and how it's achieved. The result is this piece about developing an inner life. Because I like to frame things in terms of multidimensional consciousness, in this article I have mapped out a step-by-step process to help you move progressively through different dimensions of consciousness. It's basically a mindfulness exercise, but it's also the process I use to tap into my own creativity. Whether I'm tapping into the plane of words, pictures or symbols, there's a preliminary process - a turning away from ordinary consciousness - toward the inner life. Multidimensional Consciousness Our hectic paced lives can make it harder than ever to maintain an inner life. Bright lights and continual stimulation lengthen the amount of time we s

Meditation: Heart Light - Dimension Four of Human Consciousness

Image
The Heart Centre Open your heart centre with the fifth video in the Dimensions series of mediations. You are a multidimensional being spanning earthly and spiritual dimensions. This meditation represents the bridge that connects the mindful realms of meditation to the spiritual realms. It's also a beautiful, gentle tool for personal and planetary healing. You can use it on yourself, your pets and other loved ones, and even the planet. The following book excerpt from, Multidimensional Meditation, describes a little of what is meant by Dimension Four. It is often said that love begins with the self. At Dimension Four, our personal energy intermingles with the energies of others, connecting us all. The energy at this level flows inward and outward like our breath.  Energy is balanced at the heart. Meditation at this level connects us to empathy. With empathy it becomes easier to imagine ourselves in another’s place and be more sensitive to their needs. But we can only give to

Meditation: Feet & Breathe - Dimension Three of Human Consciousness

Image
The Mental Body Today I'm sharing the fourth video in the Dimensions series of meditations. This is one of the most useful meditations you will ever learn. It generates mindfulness, that sense of presence and inhabitation of yourself in space and time. The Feet & Breathe meditation helps you to clear your mind and calm your emotions, allowing you to focus your human energy in more creative and useful ways. The following excerpt from my book, Multidimensional Meditation, explores how Dimension Three of human consciousness represents our mental body and our training. The mental body can be trained to help us handle stress. It is where we remember things, like multiplication tables and relaxation techniques. When we learn or remember something, we are holding a memory or thought form in our mental body. Meditation at Dimension Three begins when we can first surrender ourselves to the moment. By ‘moment’ I mean the current moment – not the next moment. Mindfulness of eac

Meditation: Feelings Flow - Dimension Two of Human Consciousness.

Image
The Emotional Body Are you in touch with your feelings? Did you know that attuning to your feelings is the first stage of intuitive development? Being in touch with our feelings is part of good emotional regulation. It's also an important first stage of spiritual development. Whether you wish to learn to chill out more, or soar to spiritual heights, this meditation will help you attune to the information that your feelings can provide. Here's an excerpt from my new book, Multidimensional Meditation , available on Amazon . 'Dimension Two is a dynamic and responsive realm containing our personal emotions and feelings. It is part of our personal space, divided from others by the personality and the ego. Like our physical space, our emotional space needs care, attention and sometimes protection. Meditation at Dimension Two considers how we feel at an emotional level. Since Dimension Two is a pre-thinking, stimulus and response energy, it is highly reactive. Emotio

You are Multidimensional - Book Launch and Online Meditation Series

Image
It was an ironic start to the day of the launch of Multidimensional Meditation . Coffee drinkers will relate to that moment when you flip on the kettle for your morning brew - to find no life in the kettle!  Instead I was doing a 'macca's run' - in pyjamas - on the morning of my launch. I had forgotten there would be a power outage that day and I wasn't impressed! My plans of a calm disposition, tidy hair and an ironed shirt weren't to be. I'm the short one! So, crumpled and frizzy, carrying a box of new books, I marched off to my first author talk. The launch was hosted by Lilydale Library, set among native trees between Lilydale Lake and Box Hill Institute, Lilydale Campus. I do love the area and felt honoured to be presenting my work to the world from such a peaceful and grounding place. Library staff made the whole launch really easy for me. All I had to do was show up with my books. The space was already set-up for me. A long table stretched across

Meditation: The Full Body Scan - Dimension One of Human Consciousness

Image
The Physical Body Do you ever feel like you are 'too much in your head?' Do you suffer from 'mystery pains' in your body? Are you so busy that sometimes you forget to eat? Is exercise a chore that you procrastinate? The Full Body Scan meditation is designed to help you get in touch with your body. It might seem like a strange and even unnecessary idea - because how could we forget we have a body? But it's easy to do. The more online we become, the more consciousness is directed into our heads, eyes and ears. These activities stimulate the higher dimensions of expression and impression, giving us more access to information and creativity than ever. But at lower dimensions of consciousness we are still creatures.  All creatures, no matter how sophisticated, require rest, exercise, food, air and sun. By addressing these basic needs, the energy at higher dimensions can be as potent as possible. When the physical body is rested, nourished and exercised, we

Meditation: The Egg - Dimension Zero of Human Consciousness

Image
Oceanic Consciousness The egg meditation connects you to the source of life. A dimension where all is connected in an unconscious way, like the connection between mother and unborn child. By using The Egg meditation, you can attune to raw life-affirming energy and unconditional love. It helps you connect to the love of the universe. Here's a short excerpt from my book, Multidimensional Meditation. It introduces the idea of self-love as a method of connecting us to the love of the universe... 'Meditation involves spending a little time sitting with oneself.     It’s an opportunity to sense living energy within us; to attune to the love of the universe. Planetary awareness might make it seem selfish to consider self-love, but we are the universe waking up to itself as individual, as well as collective, consciousness. What we do to one, we do to all, so self-love is a prerequisite to world love.'   Leanne Margaret © 2019 Dimension Zero Meditation You are medita

What is Multidimensional Consciousness?

Image
Light is perceived by the human eye as white, but we know that it can be split into a rainbow of colours when subjected to conditions like prisms and water droplets. Light then reveals itself as existing at various frequencies, red being the lowest frequency and violet the highest.  Likewise, human consciousness - although usually perceived as unified energy - can also be recognised as multi-layered energy of various frequencies. In Western culture we have been conditioned with the idea of a 'trinity' of forces, combining to create the human being. Modern culture labels the trinity as Mind, Body and Spirit. However, my experience of human consciousness is far more nuanced. Through my studies in meditation, mindfulness and psychic development, I have identified a multidimensional model of human consciousness that expands beyond the traditional trines of the past.  Eight of these layers of consciousness are explored in my first two books, The Love of the Universe and Mul

My Second Book is Finally a Real Thing - Yes I've Done It Twice!

Image
Finally, I've completed my second book. I'm not exactly sure why it took 20 months - considering its compact size - but it's a cute and tidy little summary of some big ideas. I'm delighted to have a proof copy in my hands. It's a real thing now! Come along to my Book Launch When I finished my first book, The Love of the Universe , I still had some material left over that I felt was important. After the experience of writing the first book, I was able to approach writing the second with more clarity and focus. It was easier to imagine the reader I was speaking to, which helped me to write words that could be understood in a relaxed way. I wanted the words to be simple enough to allow a restful, nurturing space that supported the topic. So, I wrote Multidimensional Meditation. The benefits of some kind of relaxation practice are becoming widely known and people are becoming more accepting of meditation. Some feel a spiritual calling or yearning they wish to ex

Do You Struggle With Intrusive Thoughts? Try These 3 Words...

Image
The most constant reminder of PTSD for me, is intrusive thoughts. People who have them usually understand why someone would want to blow their head off - 'Fight Club' style. Discover more techniques here . But this is a blog dedicated to positivity and personal growth, so I want to share an effective trick I have been using to manage some persistent inner chatter: 'Be Here Now - Just me.' I find simple word statements to be a powerful form of personal energy management. These ones bring me back to wherever I am, so I can concentrate on what I'm doing. They also help me stop worrying about others. Now I have the words plastered to my kitchen cupboard to remind me. I know that many people suffer from PTSD and that stress and other illnesses might cause intrusive thoughts. Maybe these majick words can help anyone prone to distraction and disassociation. They really helped me get some good work done this week. Let me know in the comments if they help yo

Healing Hands

Image
Motivation was high this week. Pleased with my first author talk at Seville Community House  (with author Debra Marks), I Healing Hands returned my focus to the intimidating task of editing. I even managed a little writing, but mainly I'm writing choreographies for my Majickal Bellydance class. Busy days usually tire people out. But not me! The busier the day the more hyper I get and the harder it is to get to sleep. This week I have been employing breathing exercises, visualisation and calming techniques. I've learned how to settle my mind, but physically, I've been pretty wound up. Recalling what I wrote about Dimension One (the body) of human consciousness in my book , I used a self-soothing strategy I call the Healing Hand. It can be used anywhere, but I focussed on the period of time right before sleep when I was in bed. You don't have to be a mum, a reiki channel or a massage therapist to invoke the power of therapeutic touch. The Healing Hand technique

When Not Writing is Writing

Image
Writing stalled last week, but that doesn't mean I'm not creating. As a writer I'm a bit like mushrooms: Under the correct conditions I will fruit all at once, but mostly I'm working away underground and out of sight. For me, creative energy is cyclical, sometimes introverted and sometimes extroverted. So even if I'm not working actively on my projects every day, I'm still thinking about them. The word has to be thought before it is written. Although the editing of my second book is excruciatingly slow at the moment, I have been journaling daily - sometimes several times daily. My writing hand and my writing voice are still being exercised in private. When a fork appears in the road it can be necessary to stop and review. I had been preparing to commence writing a new non-fiction book, but there's a novel in my head that won't leave me alone. I have a short draft, but it needs proper planning and rewriting. This is a different style of writi
